Our four distinct credit programs

Program highlights
  • two years (four full-time semesters); 60 credits
  • credential awarded: Diploma in Performing Arts—Music
  • can lead to a Bachelor of Music or a Bachelor of Arts degree upon transfer into 3rd year at a university (also known as the Music UT/Diploma program)
  • entry into the program is by audition and other assessment testing
Who is it for?
  • students who have training and competency on an instrument (or in voice)
  • students who have studied music theory rudiments
  • students who are seriously considering a career in music and/or the arts

  • credential awarded: Diploma in Performing Arts – Foundation for Music Therapy Studies
  • meets the prerequisite course requirements for 3rd year entry into Capilano University’s Bachelor of Music Therapy program
  • provides applied musical training on piano, guitar and voice, as the foundation for further study
Who is it for?
  • students who are musical and enjoy working with people
  • students who are interested in using their creativity and talent to help others

  • provides hands-on training in audio engineering, music software and production

  • students with some background in both music and technology
  • professionals in the music industry who want more literacy in music technology

  • provides a comprehensive introduction to the study of music
Who is it for?
  • students with little or no formal musical training who wish to explore an interest in music
  • students requiring further preparation for the Music Diploma Program or the Music Technology Diploma Program
